Help! Where Do I Buy My Dance Gear?

We hear you! There’s a plethora of dancewear out there, but how do you know you’re getting good quality or what’s best for your dancer? We typically recommend the following.

  • For Ballet or Jazz Slippers, choose leather over canvas! Canvas is a less resistant material. The leather does a better job of strengthening feet, which is really important when developing technique as a child.

  • We like convertible, mesh tights in theatrical pink These last longer and you can mend them if they snag. If your child prefers a different type of tight, no problem - we still recommend theatrical pink, and buying an extra pair in case of snags or rips.

  • Discount Dance is a website we often recommend for shopping dancewear. For little ones, Target occasionally has dancewear, and for local purchasing, Spell’s Dancewear in Nashville is nearest to our studio.
